| About NLPA
NATIONAL LEGAL PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATES was founded in 1986 upon the belief that individuals challenged by the judicial process deserved the highest quality representation possible. Owned by lawyers...for lawyers and their clients, NLPA is a technical consulting firm dedicated to the professional objective of providing counsel, research, and related work product to members of the Bar. NLPA is a technical consulting firm, owned by attorneys, and dedicated to the professional mission of providing counsel, research, and related work product to members of the Bar. Although our attorney research department provides some consulting assistance to attorneys in the area of civil practice, most of NLPA’s twenty-one year history has been dedicated to working with the criminal defense bar. Our ownership structure includes attorneys licensed to practice before many local, state, and federal courts; however, NLPA is not a law firm and provides no “front line” legal services. Our sole purpose is to provide research and consulting assistance. With cutting-edge computer research capabilities, an experienced and top quality staff, and more than twenty-one years of experience, NLPA is well-positioned to provide the type of assistance members of the bar often times need.
In reviewing what NLPA can bring to a case, it is important to realize what NLPA is not. NLPA is not a law firm, and therefore does not charge comparable fees. NLPA is not counsel of record, and thus only one attorney—the attorney of record--- makes all determinative decisions on legal matters in a case. NLPA is not a research, paralegal service staffed by paralegals and quasi-attorneys seeking to profit off of defendants’ fear and concern with members of the bar. And, NLPA is not a fly-by-night business operation. National Legal Professional Associates is an established, reputable, national consulting team. Though our services cost less than those charged by traditional lawyers and law firms, our work product is equal or better than that produced by most firms. NLPA is, for sure, unique. However, we bring to the defense team a focus, a strong work product, and an expertise. We fill an important niche which consequently brings balance to the adversarial process, a necessity under our constitutional guarantees. Figuratively, we are your associate down the hall. Literally, we are the place to go to out-source your substantive legal needs. Please read Why You Need NLPA to review the salient reasons of how NLPA can assist you.
You can depend on National Legal Professional Associates to provide you with quality legal research analysis and consulting assistance - the work products you want, when you want them, in the exact form you require and at a cost you can afford. In this way, you can combine your skills as a practicing lawyer with our experience as legal researchers and legal consultants to enable you to manage work overloads, meet pressing deadlines, supplement your own experience, and gain access to just about any legal source. Since 1986, NLPA’s Criminal Division has sought to bring its research resources (including access to all current computer legal databases), drafting skills, and institutional experience (representing over 75 years of practice) to augment the needs and goals of attorneys representing the accused. As expert consultants in the field of the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, both for drug and economic type crimes, NLPA has been retained on countless occasions to assist local defense attorneys. NLPA’s goal is to help make the adversarial process more balanced and fair. By assisting with current computer research, NLPA is able to fill the void which exists in many solo and small law firms where counsel simply does not have the time nor the resources available to match state or federal prosecutors in a criminal case, especially a complex one. NLPA’s experience with extensive economic loss-related offenses, complex state indictments, and similar cases supports its involvement in augmenting an effective assistance of legal counsel to an accused. Further, we are acknowledged professionals in the areas of administrative remedies, as well as Prisoner Transfers and in Fighting Deportation efforts.
Our Civil Litigation Division also is staffed with attorneys who possess years of experience in civil litigation. With such resources and flexibility, you can always depend on getting the product you need within the time from you require. Contact Us today.
