Appeal Services

If you seek assistance with an appeal (either on the state level or federal level) NLPA can offer assistance to you and your counsel. In fact, for a number of years NLPA limited its work to this type of research and have on our staff individuals who are extremely knowledgeable about the various issues that can be raised not only to appeal a conviction (if appropriate), but also in appealing a sentence. We can also review your records to determine and explain which type of appeal is best suited for your specific case. Because an appeal is based highly on issues developed in the record, it makes this stage of a case that much more critical in having thorough research performed. Our research attorneys are thorough in reviewing the entire transcript and record in your case to develop the issues with your counsel that need to be raised on appeal. Once hired, our attorneys will begin coordinating efforts with your counsel to ensure that all appealable issues are raised on your behalf.

If you are in need of an appeal and do not currently have counsel, NLPA can also assist you in securing new counsel through our network of hundreds of attorneys nationwide who are licensed both on state and federal levels. In fact, many of our affiliate attorneys even offer reduced rates if you hire NLPA to assist them.

Alternatively, if your counsel has been appointed by the court, that does not mean that NLPA cannot assist you. In fact, NLPA has worked with hundreds of appointed attorneys throughout the country. As long as your attorney is able and willing to have our assistance, we are able and willing to help!

Because often times a briefing order is issued with respect to how long you have to file an appeal, it is critical that you seek assistance right away if you are considering filing an appeal.
